Where has all the money Gone?
At the March 2009 TWU Convention there was a full financial disclosure. In the short time of aggressively dealing with the debt incurred from the 2005 lockout, the TWU had successfully paid off the $7 million in loans and was almost $3 million ahead. Many wanted the temporary dues increase to pay the debt repealed.
The dues increase continued with the intent of rebuilding the war chest for the next contract negotiations. However, I am now told that at the last TWU Executive meeting the Union is now $1 Million over budget. In such a short time where has all the money gone?
I have in my possession an e-mail forwarded to me which is "A Message to all Doubters from a Bellite." I will post that e-mail and do a point by point play by play analysis of it's contents in due course. It raises may valid concerns. However, two simple facts scream out to be dealt with.
In less than one year the new obsessive leaders of the TWU have proven to be completely fiscally irresponsible. The change occurred between March 2009 and December of that same year. Those same obsessive leaders have proven to be just as if not more cruel and merciless as the Bellites they replaced. Locking out Cope is but one example of many.
Remember how they punished Lila Hacket for leaving the caucus and supporting Darth Maul for VP? They took her busy local from her and gave it to Mike Thompson hoping he would sink. Why would they give a busy clerical local to a BA with Craft experience and give Lila local 32 if not to punish her?
Let us remember how Lila, Sherryl and Betty Lockherst were persecuted for expressing their God given right to record their dissent about the new financial direction the TWU took after March 2009 when the Junket kings and queens began to rub their greedy little mitts in anticipation once the loans were paid off. Did they rebuild the war chest? No they did not.
Instead the assigned Ivana Junket a BA from Calgary to Edmonton where her boyfriend Dale lives. All expenses paid by the TWU. There is a whole outstanding list of financial extravagance that I will site in due time. However, the biggest and most urgent cost to the TWU is legal fees against tried tested and proven soldiers. It is reminiscent of Stalin revisited.
Since the TWU has gone in a clear financial downturn from mismanagement and since the TWU is now asking for another dues increase above and beyond the temporary dues increase already made permanent, the TWU members have every right to demand a financial accounting from the TWU as to exactly where all the money went from March 2009 to December of that same year. That's not even talking about the trip to Quebec to lobby a prorogued government.
The TWU members have every right to demand the TWU executive cease and desist any and all legal action against any of it's members including but not limited to Lila Hacket and Sherryl Anderson. These cruel, evil and malicious legal actions against true solders of Rome need to stop. Silence is violence.
WHEREAS The TWU paid off all it's loans and debts from the 2005 lock out and was almost $3 million ahead at the March 2009 Convention;
WHEREAS the TWU was $1 million over budget by December of that same year;
WHEREAS the TWU has been spending a great deal of the members dues on legal fees against it's own members in what many would describe as frivolous, malicious and vexatious law suits designed to harass good members of the union who have proven their loyalty to the members in times past;
THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Executive of the TWU cease and desist any and all legal action against it's own members in Kangaroo Court Harassment Committees; and
THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the TWU Executive produce a true and accurate financial accounting of where all that money went from March 2009 to the present.
